🔐 Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)

Secure your Ugosign account by enabling 2FA with an authenticator app (TOTP): scan the QR code, confirm the 6-digit code, and save your backup codes.

🎯 Objective

Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Ugosign account to add an additional layer of security to sign-in.

📝 Prerequisites

  • Access to your Ugosign account.
  • A smartphone or a TOTP authenticator app (Proton Pass, Bitwarden, etc.).

📍 Steps

  1. Sign in to Ugosign and open Profile > Security.

Profile menu Ugosign

  1. Click "Enable".

Security menu Ugosign

  1. Scan the QR code or enter the secret key from your app.

Enable 2FA Ugosign

  1. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app and confirm.
  2. Download or copy your backup codes and keep them in a safe place (password manager, vault).
  3. Click Finish to confirm activation.

✅ Expected result

2FA is enabled. At each new sign-in (or from a new device), a 6-digit code will be requested in addition to your password.

💡 Good to know

  • TOTP codes refresh every 30 seconds. If a code fails, wait for the next one and check your phone’s time.
  • Lost access to the 2FA app: use a backup code to sign in, then reset your 2FA.
  • From Profile > Security, you can disable 2FA or regenerate backup codes.
